PNAIS September 2012 Self Study Manual

This newly revised Self Study represents the work of PNAIS Heads of School who served diligently and thoughtfully on the Standards & Practices Subcommittee over a period of 2 ½ years.  The Subcommittee’s work was guided by the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) Commission on Accreditation criteria for effective independent school accreditation.  The Standards & Practices Subcommittee also synchronized the Self Study language with PNAIS Core Values and Essential Characteristics.  Additionally, the Subcommittee worked to reduce redundancy and to ask more succinct questions that promote greater reflection.  With this new document, PNAIS now has 14 Standards, including new standards for school culture, commitment to diversity, institutional advancement, and enrollment management.  Last, the new Self Study simplifies the PNAIS evaluation structure whereby Standards and Indicators replace the previous structure of major standards, good practices and elements.
